Gustavo and Albesa “Abby” Vela, founders of Universal Connections…”Linking People Together, ” will be presenting the 2009 Amazing Grace, Bilingual Inspirational Conference and the Bilingual Inspirational Youth Concert on Sept 19 at the McAllen Convention Center Ballroom, 700 Convention Blvd. Admissions will be FREE!!
Gustavo and Abby have been humbled and honored by the comments coming in from the men, women and youths of our community. According to the Velas, the people are all expressing their excitement about the upcoming conference and youth concert. Those commenting to the Velas are saying that they are inviting other family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers to join them at this conference and youth concert on Sept 19th. Their appreciation echo comments after comments that they are looking forward to it at the McAllen Convention Center’s Ballroom. The men are excited about the motivational leadership, inspirational speakers and up-lifting music. The women are car-pooling and motivating other women to keep inviting others to come! Families are coming together with their children and making this a family event! Teresa and Shon Comparin, co-leaders of Deep Calls Ministries have completed auditioning a variety of Christian bands from all over the Valley! The bands that will be performing aside from Deep Calls Ministries are Forgotten Remedy-Brownsville; Highest Praise Worship Band-Mission; One Reason Youth Band, Rock of Ages Church-McAllen; XS Youth Band, Family Church-McAllen; Juan Gonzalez, Worship Minister-Brownsville; Santos Acosta, Centro Cristiano Rey de Reyes-Pharr and Angel Quintanilla, motivational speaker/singer-Edinburg. These bands are rocking and united in the type of music that will rock our world with powerful inspirational music. Teresa Comparing, co-leader of Deep Calls Ministries, says that “God is calling this generation to burn for Him...relentless worship!” Some of the youths are asking their friends to wear matching T-Shirts and to join them to come in groups to hear the speakers and music. Speakers are going to empower them with inspirational and motivational words. The Velas are excited about the power of the community coming together from all generations to witness the pouring of God’s Amazing Grace on His people. So, come and be a part of this extra ordinary event. We ask everyone to call us if they have any questions and to register for this truly great conference and youth concert.

The schedule is as follows: for men, registration will be from 7-8 a.m. and the conference will be from 8 to 12 noon. Universal Connections…Linking People Together are proud supports of our men and women in armed forces. They are equally proud to announce that the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the US, James Niki Rowe Post 2369 of McAllen, TX will be acting as the Color Guard for the men’s conference. The women, registration will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. and the conference from 1 to 5 p.m. and the youth, registration from 6 to 7 p.m. and the concert from 7 p.m. to 12 midnight.

2009 AMAZING GRACE CONFERENCE PURPOSE:
This conference is going to be revolutionary in that it will inspire, encourage and motivate the whole family. It has been organized to serve as a multi-purpose conference! It will be divided in three segments: 1) Men - registration from 7 to 8 a.m. and the conference from 8 a.m. to 12 noon; 2) Women - registration from 12 noon to 1 p.m. and the conference 1 to 5 p.m.; and 3) Youth registration from 6 to 7 p.m. and the concert from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. They are all a vital part of the family, even with all the current positive and negative issues, hey are a family forever. Each one has needs and are searching for answers about themselves, family, finances, future leadership roles in life, dreams, education, failures and hurts. They are searching for love, hope, peace, restoration, happiness and success. Each one has a role to accomplish in themselves, family and communit y. Life has its challenges, but we can unite. Together we can learn that we are going to succeed and win in life! We were created for a destiny that has a specific purpose for each one of us.
We will have live inspirational music and speakers that are going to present to each one of us about our role and issues that each needs answers and encouragement. Why Amazing Grace theme was selected? It is because of the meaning of the word Grace. Grace means undeserved acceptance and love received rom another. Someone has paid the price for our mistakes Spiritually, Mentally and Physically. We have been set free and forgiven because someone took our place because that someone loves and elieves in us always!!! That is power!
